As you already know by my posts i'm a firm advocate and practitioner of using whatever tools at our disposal at any given time depending on your own level of consciousness and awareness. The one thing which has always puzzled me is the believe that meditation is the all encompassing solution to your physical dilemmas which is quite frankly misleading and wholly inaccurate to teach someone. I am a firm believer in meditation before anyone has a go at me for hypocrisy. My statement is based upon the fact when people have a real people on a wholly physical level they forget about there own coping skills and blindly delve into the spiritual dimensions in the search of answers or truth which can and is very dangerous as it takes you away from the physical problem albeit only very briefly because when you come out of your meditation the pre existing problem is still there but you are a bit calmer in mind that's all. That is not healing or gaining a solution at all all you are doing is delaying the onset of your physical problem and making it bigger as a result.
When you have a dilemma for example needing a new job, new house, a break up or any stressful concern you must confront it on a wholly physical context as in what can i physical do to actively find a solution or peace with the emotional response within me. Any stressful impact upon us is basically an energetic removal of what you once believed work for you. How many times have you been in the perfect job, house, friendship, relationship etc etc only to find that in time you've evolved and have out grown that? Yeah, that's right all of us. What our natural response is. Is to fight it and try and make it work because you are holding on to energy which causes you to be happy but sadly you are holding on to things which are in fact stifle you. When we grow our pallet chances in regards to hope, dreams, desires etc etc.
Now getting back to my point. When you are worked up you aren't functioning properly at all as you are not in a state of peace within the body. Imagine watching a kettle. When the kettle is off you see the bottom but when it's boiling you'll never see the bottom as it's distorted by the steam. This is the same principle as see the reality of your current situation as you are blindly by emotions making you not see the bigger picture hence why all spiritual enlightenment paths demand you master your mind and emotions which are mainly of the Earth to enable you to function at maximum frequency.
Just think of it as Mind, Body, Soul and then Spirit. You must first master the mind and still it from all human distractions to move into the body. This is the first step and arguably the hardest part as i've stated in earlier posts the mind is like that attention seeking child who constantly seeks attention. Once you still and quieting the mind you'll see and feel completely different as that little voice is gone and you'll get a sense of the biorhythms of the human body that of the heart and gut to name but many sources of the biorhythms within the body as a whole. You've all heard of the phrase gut instinct and the heart gets what the heart desires. You see the head tries to prevent your heart and gut achieving peace in a spiritual sense as the mind is the loudest and most active part of your whole body. It's the spoilt brat of a child which ruins any social gathering. After the body becomes the Soul and the Spirit but those topics for another day as it'll take too long to describe them here and now.
So when you are stressed or run down within the body your head turns into hyper drive creating thoughts, ideas and images to entice you in to 'meditate' and wholly distract you away from what the heart and gut wants for you to actually achieve which is confront the problem head on and not let in linger on which is what the mind wants you to do. As the mind craves attention.
Now to meditate properly you must be in command of your mind and not allow it to distract you away from enter into the spheres deep within your physical body in which you are trying to listen to mainly the heart and gut. You see meditation is never achieved or takes place within the mind it happens deep within your consciousness that lies deeper with the recesses of your being as i've stated before the brain is vitally important in a materialistic sense and spiritually but it's encased in a hard skull to prevent communion with your higher self. Higher self is actually a misleading term as you need to descend to within your body into the biorhythms of your body which makes up your own bodies toroidal field which is in fact you aura, auric field or centre of consciousness.
So in summary deal with all physical problems in a physical context. Ask yourself why does this affect me in the way it does and understand it physically first and foremost because the majority of the solutions lie deep within the actual problem itself and the main problems is your relationship to the problem.
Once you are calm then meditate and replenish the Body, Spirit and Soul but please when you meditate don't do it with the aim of achieving answers or guidance on any subjects as you'll likely be mislead which harms you instead of aiding you. During the mediation whatever insights, insights present themselves to you they must then be vetted to see if the information has any validity or any truth to you at all because 95% of spiritual insight we encounter is actual worthless to us but we hold onto it because we'll feel it's relevant.
